Gold Coin worth $1,000,000
The Royal Canadian Mint unveiled a welcome addition to any piggy bank on May 3, 2007 - a monster gold coin with a face value of C$1 million (U.S. $903,000) that it says is the world's biggest, purest and highest denomination coin.
Weighing in at 100 kilograms (220.5 pounds), the limited edition coin easily dwarfs its closest rival, the 31-kg (68-pound) "Big Phil", which was made to honor the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and has a face value of a mere 100,000 euros (U.S. $136,000).
A U.S. precious metals distributor has ordered three and there is interest in Asia and Europe, the mint said. At 53 centimeters (21 inches) in diameter and over 3 cm (1.2 inches) thick, the massive coins need a high level of hand crafting.

Wow! that was a big amount of money.
Wonderful... Indian mint should also print a coin like this for Gandhiji. After all, India is the biggest consumer of gold.
Fantastique alright. But what's the use? It has no circulatory value. Would only serve as a showpiece in a multi-billionaire's collection
Beautiful……, marvelous, breathtaking, …… but is it of any use??
there are many costly things that are of no use. but these kinda things add to the unique collection to the owner of it. He can say that he has the most costliest coin in the world. Moreover, having a gold coin is a great. Gold prices have gone up by more than 50% in past two years. Now-a-days, gold is better investment option than real estate or stock holding. :)
KASH YEH MERE HATH ME HOTA ABHI.
I'd rather that all Indians donate some gold to be collected and then upon obtaining the equivalent cash for the same help each Indian family to have a descent home to live in, with guaranteed education for each child up to at least completion of HSC. Otherwise gold is worth dust.
100 Kgs?!! What is the use of it if you cannot lift it.
I think this gigantic gold coin is the first and lost of its kind in entire universe, because no body dare enough to built such a huge and marvelous gold coin in the situation of raising gold prises.
